Boat of the Week: stunning Dutch barge in London
Three words sprang to mind when I first saw this boat: huge, cool and wow! This is a truly delightful Dutch barge in a great location. She has it all - accommodation for eight, beautiful and well planned living space and bags of room for those who enjoy a bit of outdoor living. The living space is arranged on two levels and could be easily re-configured to the new owner's specification.
Whilst she will happily sit on her mooring as a static home, she's also perfectly capable of cruising further afield and has a powerful (yet economical) fully functioning engine). She was surveyed less than a year ago and everything appears to be shipshape.
This is an ideal boat for the Central London live-aboard lifestyle, with reasonable running costs and easy access to shops, bars, restaurants, trains, buses and the motorway system. The marina has shore power and water on the pontoons and is quiet and secure (gated entry and all-round CCTV coverage) and has an optional underground car parking space.
Compared to the usual 'bricks & mortar' equivalent, London living doesn't get much better than this.
