Comentario del broker
Boatshed Essex are pleased to be presenting this tidy Colvic Countess 37, purchased from new at the Boatshow in 1989 and fitted out by the current owner and launched in 1991.
There intention was to sail the Meditaranean, which they did and lots more extended cruising over the years in their ownership.
A spacious blue water cruiser with a deep centre cockpit and a good sized aft cabin, with ensuite heads.
The owners report the boat to have a safe and comfortable feel, with the spacious centre cockpit, making it ideal for families and longer distance cruising. Room on deck is equally comfortable, with spacious side decks and large foredeck.
The volume of space extends to the traditionally laid out interior, with good headroom, two heads, with one being en-suite to the aft double cabin. The well equipped galley provides plenty of room for preparing meals and spacious saloon with port and starboard seating and large drop leaf saloon table, provides plenty of space for relaxing and socialising.
This version looks to have been well maintained over the years, with tidy interior woodwork. When I visited the boat, I was struck by its light and spacious feel due to the number of hatches, windows and the open space below, which also provides comfortable accommodation, with ample headroom and storage.
This boat is an attractive option for a range of uses including the potential for coastal cruising, extended passage making and live-aboard possibilities. This boat appears to be a solid, tidy, spacious boat with an excellent reputation.
She is designed to be easily handled by a couple with a separate fore cabin and head for guests. Her ketch rig, allows for a variety of balanced rigs for any weather. She is a comfortable and excellent sea boat that will look after her crew in any weather and she is easily handled and predictable under motor. The deep cockpit and cockpit enclosure keeps the wind and spray off and extends the living space.
The owners haven't used the boat in recent years, as detailed, although maintained her and have reflected this in the price.
If you have any queries or would like to organise a personal viewing, then please do contact our Boatshed office and we would be happy to help.
