When asked by the owner and co-builder to come and see this yacht for the first time I was struck by her good looks and attention to detail in the building of her. The Heir Island Sloop is unquestionably the finest designed and built gaff-rigged daysailer available – she is very pretty, sails like a dream and is beautifully finished. The hull is grp; deck, seats, coamings, spars are all hardwood timber (Iroko or Utile) and the fittings are all bronze or stainless steel. This boat is in mint condition having been sailed for about an hour and the engine for about 15 minutes! The asking price is some £5000 under the intended UK new price.
