Newport International Boat Show Report Day 1
Well, the Newport International Boat Show 2011, started with out a hitch yesterday morning. America’s Cup Blvd was packed as early as 8am with buses and cars unloading exhibitors and guests. The fog was thick and the humidity was high but it wasn’t slowing down these hearty New England boaters.
Boatshed Newport jumped in with both feet and were completely set up by 9:55am for the 10am opening. Not to bad for rookies!
Our good friends at Sea Legs are just a few booths down spreading the Boatshed word all over the show. We are also next to our friends Harbour Lights this year. Their decorative lighted nautical charts are really gorgeous. We quickly made friends with our other neighbors at Seaside Luxuries and Richardsons Maptech and look forward to spending the weekend with them.
Word on the street is San Juan yachts has a new San Juan 40 IPS Drive that is turning a lot of heads. We’ll be sure to have photos and updates as the weekend goes on.
Fizz @ 5 was a hit at Boatshed Newport and will be on the schedule for the rest of the weekend. Be sure to stop by and bring friends as there’s always room for more!
Last night rounded out with a pig roast at Newport Ship Yard. Eat. Sweet. Meat. did an amazing job as always with the food and the company we kept was great (no surprise there). It was nice to round out our evening chatting with our friends at Eastern Yacht Sales, Wellington Yachts and of course all our friends at Hunt Yachts.
We’ll see everyone today at the show. Look us up at booth C-33. Rob and Ali will be working the floor and look forward to another great day! Don’t forget to make time to stop by for Fizz @ 5 tonight!
