'Push the Boat Out' day: 21st July
To celebrate London 2012 there’s a special day to get lots of British boats out on to the water.
Across the UK, clubs and centres are holding Sail for Gold events and activities to join in the fun of the Olympic Games this summer.
The RYA 'Push the Boat Out' day is happening just before the Games begin and is an opportunity to showcase sailing to the nation. It’s also a way to show our support for our Olympic and Paralympic sailors. Get out your flags and bunting to wish the British Sailing Team good luck and put photos of your event on the Sail for Gold Facebook page.
There may be cruiser rallies, treasure hunts, dinghy pursuit races, or a club sail past. There are a few sailing clubs in Essex holding events. Search for your nearest on the RYA website.:
Alternatively you could organise something yourself at your local club, centre or marina.
Are you going to push the boat out?
If you have a boating or sailing story to tell contact us: we’d be happy to share it on our blog.
